Where Does Daddy Work?

TJ is in love with the fact that Rob works at UPS; everytime we see a UPS truck he is quick to point out to everyone and anyone that is where his daddy works. Rob gets UPS shirts from work and last night TJ made me fold them all and then he lined them all up; he was wearing one and carrying one around...see picture...my favorite part about where Rob works is listening to TJ try and say it...it's three simple letters U P S but for some reason TJ gets tongue tied and calls it something like U P Pess....I took video so he can always remember it!

Happy Birthday Jack!

Today is the day...well actually it was this morning..EARLY morning...that one year ago we welcomed you into this world! Mommy had her doctors appt on Thursday 7/20 at which point it was decided that you were no where near wanting to come out; nothing was happening not even braxton hicks contractions so my scheduled induction for Monday became a scheduled repeat c-section. I was a little disappointed at having to have another section but it was hot as hell and I wanted you out (just being honest) so on Friday 7/21 I pulled weeds...couldn't sleep well and when I woke up Saturday 7/22 it was odd that I was feeling some pain...well when I could start timing the pain I thought hmm that is odd...I called the doc and he said to come in checked out because of having a section with your brother I needed to be monitored if I was in labor so I told Rob to keep your brother at home I was sure I would be back...drove myself to the hospital..still having contractions about 1 - 3 mins long and about 10 mins apart...checked in; got hooked up and NOTHING..that's right...still nothing..doc said go home; warm bath etc..I got back home about 2:30 and I went to lay down...well at 5 when the contractions had not stopped but instead became stronger I called the doc again and basically said this pain has got to end...so we dropped TJ off at MiMi's and off we went..this time I had to be wheeled from the ER back to labor and delivery and by the time they got me all hooked back up it was about 7 and I was 1cm dialated...at midnight when they could get me in for a section I was 7cm's so I said let's go for it...I started pushing at 3:15 and you were born at 3:33...7 pounds 10 ounces and 19 inches long...you were not actually named until day 2 in the hospital...but you were loved instantly....you are now 1 and just a few days ago became a full on walker...no more crawling...I see running (after TJ) in your near future...you can say a few words but most times it sounds like chinese...you say dixie or doggie; we aren't really sure which; dadda and momma...you still use your bottle but are drinking more and more from a cup (bascially because mommy is sick of bottles). You are a super sleeper and can make me laugh and smile in an instant..you LOVE LOVE LOVE your big brother..as soon as he starts to bust a move you give us your fully belly giggle! Your brother has nicknamed you Trouble and it works because you get into everything. Happy Birthday Jack Ryan...we love you!

Jack's 1st Birthday Party

On Saturday 7/19/08 we celebrated Jack Ryan's first birthday! It was a good time had by all - well most - there was one little snafu' if you will but other than that things ran smoothly. Tons of food fun and people! Aunt Sara's mom made the cakes; two huge cupcakes with "normal" ones surrounding it; they were yummy (so I heard) and a huge hit...something different...thank you soon to be grandma in law Tammy! :-)Here are a few pictures from the big day!

They are like our children as well; Dixie Lou has been through everything with us; she came first and she is a super star...Harley is a little on the dumb side but we love him too! LOL! Here they are in all their splender; you can see how rough they have it! Not sure why the pics came out blurry and you will note that Harley gives me the same face the kids do when they see the camera - enough pictures already!

Two other tidbits

this is what happens when we leave the bathroom door open and TJ's attempt to clean something off of his foot; I love his soaking technique! LOL! He got his foot clean too!

HAPPY 4th OF JULY!! 2008

Happy 4th of July everyone! We had a very fun filled weekend.

Thursday I went home half a day and can't even remember at this point what we did! Friday - we went to the neighborhood parade that runs every year on Dale Blvd. It was hot but the boys enjoyed it. After that we went to our neighbor's father's house for a cook out and swimming and then came the rain well storms..and they lasted off and on all night. For fireworks we tried to go see the ones at the stadium and when they finally started at 10:40 it was raining and TJ was tired and we didn't watch many before we called it a night; he fell asleep on the way home. He did do a few sparklers this year but that was it for our own fireworks because of the rain. Then Saturday hmmm.....I think we hung out at Henry's...we did a lot of that because Popeye (my dad) was in town visiting. Sunday we had a cookout at Henry's and that was about it. I actually played hookie yesterday to clean the house and the van inside and out. I hate using my weekends to clean; I would rather be with the boys! No 4th of July would be complete without a little drama and I thank our neighbors for the "action/show" that night complete with flying macaroni and cheese! (No one was injured well not seriously) Here are a few pictures....hope everyone had a safe and happy 4th! I almost forgot...Jack is pretty much full on walking...he'll cruise the walls, furniture and toys and then let go and walk instead of dropping to a crawl so anyday now should be just walking and no more cruising at all!

I am all about saving a dollar; pinching pennies; finding the best deals

so when I went to CVS last night I was armed with my "extra care bucks" coupons and sale flier; I had to get three things Laundry detergent; cigs (for rob)and toothpaste...my total 2.19!

I got two things of laundry detergent (50 plus loads each) the cigs and toothpaste for 2.19....can I shop or what! I was so proud of myself!

Laundry detergent buy one get one free; toothpaste was on sale for 1.77 and I had a dollar off coupon and then I had 5.50 in extra care bucks...still puts a smile on my face! LOL!

Summer Thunderstorms make for great baking time

We had a "summer storm" yesterday so while the kids had to wait for it to pass to go out to play we made brownies!
